While business trends come and go and start-ups rise and fall, real estate remains a constant. Landlords must think in decades and therefore, skepticism of the new is to be expected. Start-ups like us need to ensure we create long-lasting, reliable relationships with the industry in order to gain its trust. Therefore, we’ve made it a priority to partner up with leading actors in both real estate and insurance, actors who’ve gained the trust and whose vast experience we can depend on, so the industry can rely on us.

Finally, we are a Future-focused company. Ebie doesn’t pursue short-term yields but instead focuses on making a tangible impact on the future of renting by optimizing the rental process, ensuring a higher degree of resource utilization while digitalizing the industry. From day one, we knew our product could benefit society by transforming such a vital sector as real estate. We also know we’re far from done, and only through continuous innovation and constant commitment can we ensure that Ebie has the maximum impact and challenges the way we rent.

Ebie har en integrerad hållbarhetsstrategi. Men vad innebär det egentligen för ett start-up som sysslar med försäkring för fastighetsbranschen? Så här har vi tänkt:

Vi kan inte göra annat än att applådera initiativ i fastighetsbranschen som Myrspovens driftoptimeringslösning eller NREPs solenergisatsning. Dessa satsningar gör skillnad och det är ganska lätt att se deras koppling till hållbarhet. Men hur är Ebies hyresgaranti hållbar? Jo, när man skrapar lite på ytan inser man snabbt hur många negativa konsekvenser depositionen har, både för företagande och klimatet. Kort sagt skapar depositionen onödig friktion på marknaden. Friktion som, med lite överslagsräkning, ganska lätt kan översättas till reella effekter i form av minskad tillväxt och ökat resursslöseri på hyresmarknaden. Med vårt mer kapitaleffektiva alternativ minskar vi friktionen och gör på så sätt hyresmarknaden mer effektiv, och i utsträckning mer hållbar.

Ebie has an integrated sustainability strategy. But what does that really mean for a start-up that provides insurance for the real estate industry? Here's our thinking:

We can only applaud the initiatives in the real estate industry like Myrspoven's building energy-usage optimization or NREP's solar energy initiative. These initiatives are truly making a difference and it is quite easy to see their link to sustainability. But how is Ebie's insurance sustainable? Well, when you scratch the surface a bit, you quickly realize how many negative impacts the rent deposit has, both for businesses and on the environment. In short, the deposit creates unnecessary friction in the market. The friction that, with some back-of-the-envelope calculations, can quite easily be translated into real effects in terms of reduced growth and increased waste of resources in the rental market. With our more capital-efficient solution, we reduce friction and thus make the rental market more efficient, and to an extent more sustainable.

Läs intervjun i Risk & Försäkring Insights med vår VD och co-founder Edvin Lindhout som berättar om hur Ebies lösning gör att företag nu kan slippa både deposition och bankgaranti när de hyr ny lokal eller kontor. Något som inte varit möjligt tidigare.
