“We, the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves…” 🇸🇬

Simple words, but signifying a profound spirit that has bound generations of Singaporeans together.

This year marks 60 years since our National Pledge was introduced in 1966. For six decades, generations of Singaporeans have recited these words in our schools, at National Day ceremonies and at countless community gatherings.

But the Pledge is more than something we recite. It reminds us of who we are and what we continue to aspire towards: one united people, regardless of race, language or religion, building a democratic society based on justice and equality.

Over the past weekend, our East Coast team has been out on walkabouts across our community, meeting residents, catching up with familiar faces and sharing the National Day spirit together.

These moments remind us that nation-building happens not only through big milestones, but also through the everyday bonds we build with one another in our neighbourhoods and communities.

Sixty years on, the words of our Pledge remain as meaningful as ever. May we continue to not just recite them, but live them, and keep building a Singapore where everyone has a place and everyone belongs.

My fellow MPs and I wish all of you a very Happy National Day! We will continue to work hard, to make East Side, the Best Side, and A Place for All!

Celebrating the people that keep our East Coast beautiful! ❤️💙

This month, Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash, Minister of State (MCCY & MOM) and MP to East Coast GRC (Bedok), joined us to personally thank East Coast Town Council's conservancy and horticultural workers, presenting tokens of appreciation for their tireless hard work.

From sweeping our walkways at the crack of dawn to nurturing every tree and flowerbed we love, these everyday heroes keep our estate clean, green and welcoming for all. Their dedication does not go unnoticed.

A big thank you to NTUC for having us as part of this meaningful appreciation event, and for the opportunity to show our conservancy and horticultural team some well deserved love. 🙌

Keeping our Estate Clean is Everyone's Business, and our workers cannot do it alone. Whether it is disposing of litter responsibly or reporting bulky waste to the town council, every small act helps preserve the home we love.

Together, we keep East Coast shining! ✨
