Former Paya Lebar Airport

Many buildings of the former airport like the passenger terminal building, control tower block and some aircraft hangers still remain today.

The airport runway was equipped and upgraded to accommodate large jets. It was one of the longest in Asia in the 1960s.

Terminal Building
- The mosaic mural, titled “Skyline of Singapore” is one of the winning entries in a design competition held for the airport in 1963. The mural shows a paranoma of our city.
- The iconic mushroom-shaped information centre.

Singapore Airlines (SIA) - The Paya Lebar Airport was also the birthplace of Singapore’s national carrier SIA in 1971.
