Good food always tastes better when shared. 🍕🥪

Last week, we brought our TGR community together for A Savoury Affair, a lunchtime treat and the perfect excuse to step away from our desks, catch up and enjoy some good food together.

We had pizzas from Roberta’s, sandos and mini fruit custard danishes from The Test Kitchen, and chicken pasta salad from Gastronomia. Judging by the number of second and third helpings, we’d say the spread was a hit!

It was also lovely having some of our newer members join us, getting to know the community and meeting some new faces around the table.
More than the food, our favourite part was seeing everyone chatting, laughing and simply enjoying a little break from the workday together.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for this event. Here’s to more moments around the table with our TGR community! ✨

Some places are simply where you work. Others become part of your day.

A space that feels good to walk into. A team that makes you feel welcome. A community where conversations flow, connections grow, and there’s always something to look forward to beyond the workday.

From quiet moments of focus to team lunches, shared celebrations, and familiar faces, it’s the little moments in between that make working here feel different.

Because a great workspace isn’t only about where you work, but who you share the experience with.

The space. The team. The community. Together, they make TGR what it is.

Come experience it for yourself.

🎬 From the world of film to our community at TGR, meet Kenneth Tan.

As Chairman of the Singapore Film Society, Kenneth is passionate about connecting people through cinema and championing film appreciation in Singapore.

And when it comes to his own workspace, connection matters just as much.

Since joining The General Room in January, he has described TGR as more than a workplace. For him, it feels like “home.” 🤍

From the ambience and comfort of the space to the warm welcome from our team, his words are a lovely reminder that the best workplaces are shaped not only by how they look, but by how they make people feel.

We’re grateful to have you as part of our community. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

Nothing brings people together quite like a good makan session ✨

We celebrated National Day the Singapore way with The Great SG Makan, an afternoon of good food, familiar local treats and lots of catching up with our TGR community.

For this gathering, we partnered with The Table Butters, who brought in a selection of freshly made sourdough sandwiches and cookies for our members. The sourdough sandwiches were definitely a crowd favourite, with everyone getting to try the different flavours! 🥪

Of course, no SG celebration is complete without some nostalgic childhood snacks! A simple afternoon of old school favourites, coconut water, good conversations and our TGR community coming together to makan and unwind. ❤️

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and made the afternoon so memorable. Here’s to more shared moments and community gatherings at TGR! ✨

A different way to experience our space. 🎙️✨

We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Cha-Inn from The Curious Chair Pod as she recorded her very first podcast session with her guest at The General Room.

Our semi enclosed area provided a comfortable and relaxed setting for the recording, with just the right ambience for conversations to flow naturally while offering a little more privacy within the space.

The session went smoothly, and we were glad to hear that they enjoyed both the experience and the atmosphere of the space. 🤍

It’s always exciting to see our spaces being used in different ways, whether for focused work, meetings, creative sessions, or in this case, meaningful conversations behind the mic.

Here’s to more stories, conversations, and creative moments taking place at TGR. 🎙️

Have an idea in mind? Let’s bring it to life.

We’re usually the ones making sure everyone at The General Room feels at home. This time, we got to sit back, enjoy a good meal, and spend some time together. 🤍🍣

Our team recently headed to SUSHISAMBA for an afternoon of good food, plenty of laughs, and conversations beyond our usual workday.

At The General Room, people have always been at the heart of what we do. We love seeing the daily chats between members, familiar faces coming through our doors, and friendships that grow naturally within the space.

And behind it all is our little team, working together to make TGR a place people enjoy coming back to.

A lovely afternoon together and definitely one for the team album. ✨

Here’s to more good food and good times together! 🥂
