I’m ashamed to admit at 40 that I am burnt out from not taking care of myself in my 20s and 30s emotionally, mentally and physically.

1. I graduated lost — into a recession.
First salary was $2,400 a month. 15-hour days. As a tax auditor it was 12-15 hour days everyday. I lost 6kg as a result.
I thought this was normal.

2. I was overworked and felt like I was always behind everyone. I lost so many friends over the years as I could not keep in touch with them.

3. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.
Racing heart. Shaking hands. Can’t sleep. Can’t regulate emotions. I already had anxiety and this just compounded.

4. I transitioned to real estate. The overwork followed.
New industry. Same anxiety. Same comparison. Same feeling of watching everyone else hit milestones while I stood still.
I gave everything to catching up.

5. I took years and endless medication to try to get to remission. I am now playing catch up for the toll the emotional, physical and mental stress work had on my body.
I’m in remission for hyperthyroidism now.
But remission isn’t recovery.

I’m still paying for my mistakes.
And I’m still healing.
Both at the same time.

I joined this industry in 2013 with no car, a $250 first deal, and I always had to hitch a ride from colleagues because I could not afford a car.

In 2019 I decided to pivot and go deep on serving one group of clients exceptionally well.

That group was young parents planning ahead for their children’s Primary 1 future.

Today, 99% of the families I work with secure places in their target schools — Tao Nan, Ai Tong, Nan Hua, SCGS, ACS — while keeping long-term flexibility for the next chapter of their family’s life.

But the school placement isn’t actually the part I’m most proud of.

It’s this: the parents I serve don’t have to choose between their child’s education and their family’s long-term plans. They get clarity. Structure. A path that holds up over decades — not just the next hype or launch.

That’s the work I love. That’s why I show up every day.

This part of the year wasn’t about more wins.
It was about becoming the person who could hold them.

Standing on stage to address a crowd.
Showing up.
Inspiring others.
Leading, learning, and sometimes being uncomfortable.

From standing on stage, to supporting others in their growth — every moment stretched me in a different way.

Growth doesn’t always look glamorous.
Sometimes it just looks like choosing to step forward anyway.

This was a year of becoming.💪🏻

My heart is full 😍
I recently placed 52nd at LABC and received the October Super Platinum recognition — and while those titles look shiny on the outside, the truth behind them is far quieter… and much more personal.

There were times I felt completely lost in real estate. I left a corporate job and my comfort zone as I knew corporate life might be tough for me - too many politics and structure.

After 13 years I realised being a solopreneur isn’t that great either - sometimes I am just so lost in the busyness, lost in the comparisons, lost in trying to figure out where I truly belonged.

And tbh there were times when I was lost in life too… so these awards hit different.

I didn’t start this career with confidence.🥹
I didn’t come in with connections, special talent, or a clear path.😕
Most of the time, I just kept putting one foot forward, even when I didn’t know if I was walking in the right direction.🚶

That’s why these milestones mean so much to me —
not because they prove anything to the world,
but because they remind me that purpose can be found even when you don’t start with clarity.

Every family I help…
every late-night strategy discussion…
every school-planning call…
every problem solved behind the scenes…
has shaped me and grounded me in ways I never expected.

To my clients — thank you for trusting me with such an intimate part of your life.😎🥳
Your homes, your children, your dreams…
these are not “transactions” to me.
They are the reason I found meaning in a life where I once felt directionless.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year, it’s this:

You don’t have to have everything figured out to make a difference.
You just have to keep showing up with heart.❤️❤️

“I only win when my clients WIN”❤️

When I first met them they were choosing between agents…

But deep down, they weren’t looking for a transaction.
They were looking for clarity… and safety.

Because when you’re planning for 2 children, the stakes are higher…. Esp because they wanted their children in different single gender schools.

The wrong move could mean:🥲
– Overspending
– Being overstretched
– Losing priority for schools
– Buying a risky condo
– Or compromising the long-term stability of the family

So I told them what I tell every parent:

“A property decision is really a life decision in disguise.”

Instead of only focusing on the sale, we stepped back and looked forward — years forward.

Would this upgrade still be affordable after all their expenses …?
Would their monthly instalments still allow them to breathe?
Would both children still have safe, predictable school pathways without alumni?
Would the condos chosen appreciate enough to fund their next step?

That’s when they realised — they didn’t need an agent.
They needed a strategist.

“Don’t choose the agent who closes the fastest.
Choose the one who protects your tomorrow.”
