Cushman & Wakefield’s Li said broader headwinds --

- Singapore’s economic growth slumped in the final months of 2019 as trade-reliant sectors struggled to gain traction
and a less-than-ideal take up rate for recent launches are likely to nudge developers into pricing their projects more sensitively in the coming year

- That will help spur sales and allow home builders to better manage their inventory in view of the five-year stamp duty deadline that’s imposed on developers if they don’t sell stock, she said

- Sun said that an easing of trade tensions between the U.S. and China and interest rate cuts could boost buyer confidence

Private home prices in Singapore rose just 0.3% in the final three months of 2019, further evidence that government cooling measures levied in mid 2018 have taken the heat out of the city-state’s residential real estate market.
