July Birthday Celebration at SNM AAC@Race Course

On 31 July 2026, SNM AAC@Race Course celebrated our July birthday babies with a warm and cheerful potluck lunch. Seniors enjoyed delicious chicken rice and other shared dishes, creating a cosy and enjoyable atmosphere.

The celebration continued with a cake-cutting ceremony, where our July babies received heartfelt wishes for good health, happiness and peace. Volunteer James Chew also entertained the seniors with a selection of favourite oldies, encouraging everyone to sing along and enjoy the music.

To add some fun and nostalgia, our staff organised a Q&A session featuring familiar sights and memories from old Singapore. Seniors eagerly joined in, answering questions about vintage SBS bus colours, kampong houses, muah chee, the iconic Dragon Playground in Toa Payoh and more.

It was a joyful gathering filled with good food, music, laughter and shared memories. The seniors had a wonderful time celebrating together and creating happy memories with one another. ❤

SNM AAC@Race Course Reach Out to Seniors with Silver Connections Volunteers

In a refined display of strategic community engagement, SNM AAC@Race Course partnered with the National Youth Council (NYC) to welcome volunteers from Project Silver Connections, part of their Youth Leadership Programme (YLP), for two carefully linked initiatives that enriched the lives of seniors living in the neighbourhood.

The first initiative, "Knock, Nourish, Nurture," saw volunteers reach out to more than 370 residents living in the HDB blocks along Race Course Road. Together with our staff, they encouraged seniors to visit the centre for blood pressure checks by healthcare professionals and to take part in a practical scam awareness activity. Each participant received a goodie bag and nourishing refreshments, a thoughtful gesture that combined immediate care with lasting empowerment.

Two weeks later, the same volunteers returned to SNM AAC@Race Course for a Skills and Games Exchange. They personally invited many of the seniors they had met during the earlier outreach, transforming that initial contact into deeper participation. The morning was filled with board games, language sharing, and hands-on learning in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), scam identification, and social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Free snacks and refreshments kept the atmosphere lively and welcoming throughout.

Together, the two initiatives formed an elegant continuum, and seniors were left better equipped to navigate modern challenges and more firmly connected to their community.

Our deepest appreciation goes to the volunteers of Project Silver Connections for their dedication, thoughtful follow-through, and genuine care. Their efforts transformed a door knocking exercise into a lasting journey of learning, connection, and growth. ❤️

Volunteer Wellness Pilot Event at SNM Nursing Home@Riverwalk

On 5 August 2026, SNM (Singapore) welcomed volunteers from across our services, including our AAC senior volunteers, to our ‘Volunteer Wellness Pilot Event’ at SNM Nursing Home@Riverwalk. The afternoon was all about promoting their physical, mental and emotional well-being while creating opportunities to strengthen friendships and connections.

The programme kicked off with a lively game of Human Bingo, where volunteers enthusiastically mingled, sparked conversations and formed new friendships. Laughter filled the room as everyone got to know one another in a fun and engaging way.

Participants were also treated to “Wellness Pause”, an insightful talk by Mr Alex Yeo, Executive Director of Caring for Life. Through practical stress-relief tips and guided breathing exercises, he encouraged everyone to slow down, relax and take a moment to care for their own well-being. Many participants found the session informative and appreciated the simple, yet practical wellness tips shared.

The afternoon continued with a canvas painting session, where volunteers had the chance to unwind, express their creativity and simply enjoy the moment. A delightful tea buffet rounded off the programme, giving everyone more time to bond and catch up over light refreshments.

The Volunteer Wellness Pilot Event was a meaningful opportunity for our volunteers to learn, connect, unwind and recharge. It also reflected SNM's commitment to caring for the well-being of those who so generously give their time to serve others, recognising that healthy, connected and motivated volunteers are an important part of supporting our mission and the communities we serve. ❤️

On 6 August 2026, our lively active seniors from SNM AAC (Care) transformed the Pavilion at Blk 862 into a vibrant National Day Carnival. Organised by staff member Ms Phin Lee, together with our amazing seniors, AAC staff and volunteers led by Centre Manager Mr Raymond, the event welcomed seniors from the neighbourhood, along with their families and caregivers, for a morning filled with fun, laughter and celebration.

Together with our staff and volunteers, our seniors proudly manned nine exciting game booths, including ring toss, golf and parking the car. Participants made their way around each station, collecting stamps before redeeming their prizes. Smiles were all around as everyone enjoyed the friendly games, snapped fun photos at the display and photo booths and tucked into delicious treats such as chendol, spring rolls, fried chicken, sandwiches, curry puffs and more.

We were delighted to welcome SNM CEO Mr S. Devendran, along with our special guests, BBM Chairman and Sembawang Central CCC Chairman Mr Goh Peng Hong, Woodlands IAEC Chairman Mr Jaffar, and Ms Hui Ying from the Agency for Integrated Care. In his speech, Mr Devendran paid tribute to Singapore's seniors, recognising the commitment and resilience that have helped build the nation we know today. He then led everyone in singing the National Anthem and reciting the National Pledge.

The celebrations continued with an entertaining line-up of performances by our seniors and staff. From lively karaoke to energetic pom-pom dances by our evergreen dancers, familiar tunes played on the angklung and an electrifying lion dance accompanied by our ball-drumming seniors, the performances kept the festive spirit alive throughout the morning. The celebrations ended on a high note as every participant went home with a door gift, while those who completed all nine game booths were rewarded with fabulous prizes.

More than just a National Day celebration, the carnival was a lovely display of camaraderie as seniors from different backgrounds came together to celebrate Singapore's 61st birthday. Thank you to everyone who joined us and we can't wait to celebrate with you again next year! ❤

SNM (Singapore) came together with our leaders, staff, residents and officers from Sembawang Airbase to celebrate Singapore’s 61st National Day with a meaningful flag-raising ceremony at SNM Nursing Home@Chong Pang.

The celebration began with opening remarks by our President, Mr Anil Sarasijakshan, who paid tribute to our seniors and the contributions they made in building the Singapore we know and enjoy today.

We then stood together for the National Anthem as the flag was raised. Our residents also led everyone in reciting the National Pledge in Mandarin, Malay and Tamil, after we recited it together in English.

The celebrations continued in the dining hall with a cake-cutting ceremony led by Mr Anil, our CEO Mr S. Devendran, officers from Sembawang Airbase and our Residents' Committee Chairman, Mr Suria Kumaran. With a birthday song and plenty of smiles, we wished Singapore a very happy 61st birthday! 🎂

Mr Suria then shared a few words on Singapore’s journey to independence and reminded us how fortunate we are to live in a peaceful and harmonious nation, thanks to the leaders who helped pave the way.

We were also grateful to the officers from Sembawang Airbase, who presented SNM (Singapore) with a token of appreciation for having them be part of our National Day celebration.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this a lovely and meaningful celebration of Singapore’s 61st birthday. ❤️

Celebrating 61 Years of Independence, Together as One Nation. Happy National Day! ❤️

08/08/2026

This National Day, as Singapore celebrates, we'd like to take a moment to remember the hands that built it.

Hands that worked through the heat.

Hands that sacrificed quietly.

Hands that held families together — and never asked for more.
They gave everything so our nation could become what it is today.

Now, many of them are in our care at Sree Narayana Mission (Singapore).

The care we provide meets their needs.

But your donation brings something more — moments of comfort, companionship, and dignity in the everyday.

As we celebrate, take a moment to give back.

Give today.

Because gratitude is best shown through action.

On 6 August 2026, SNM (Singapore) celebrated Nurses' Day with an evening of fun, laughter and well-deserved appreciation at Sonic Bowl @ SAFRA Yishun.

Nearly 100 nurses and staff from our Chong Pang and Riverwalk Nursing Homes, Meranti Home and Senior Care Centres came together for a friendly bowling competition, where teamwork, camaraderie and a little healthy competition made for an unforgettable evening. Between cheering one another on and sharing plenty of laughs, everyone also enjoyed a delicious buffet and the chance to catch up with colleagues from across our services.

The celebrations continued with a meaningful cake-cutting ceremony, where SNM CEO Mr S. Devendran expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and compassion of our nurses, while also thanking the HR team for organising the event. Our Director of Nursing, Ms Ramya, and Nurse Clinician, Ms Mahalakshmi, also shared their words of appreciation before presenting prizes to the Top 3 Teams and Top 3 Individual Players for their outstanding performances.

A big congratulations to all our winners, and Happy Nurses' Day to every one of our nurses! Thank you for your unwavering commitment, hard work and compassion in caring for our residents and clients every day. ❤
