Even though private residential price growth has slowed for the third straight quarter, prices are still increasing (just at a more sustainable pace) for example, rising about 0.3% in early 2026 instead of faster jumps previously . This suggests the market is stabilising after a strong run-up.

From a buyer’s perspective, this is actually encouraging:
• It reduces the risk of overheating or a sudden correction
• Creates a more balanced environment between buyers and sellers
• Signals that government measures are working to keep the market sustainable
