Condo upsize from a 2-bedder to 3-bedder done. 💪

Older condo was bigger, cheaper and nearer MRT. Newer condo was smaller, pricier and further, but both appreciated quite similarly. The newer one however had much higher transaction volume.

Since space and MRT weren’t must-haves, we went newer. Hopefully when it’s time to sell, there’ll be a bigger pool of buyers waiting. 🙏

My personal view is that the hardest part for Lagoon View is still getting the 80%. As of 18 Aug, they’re only at 60.53% with 291/481 units signed, so they still need roughly another 94 units before end Aug.

I’ve spoken to a few neighbours and my sense is that some of those holding back are older residents. Their concern is that even with the en bloc proceeds, it may be difficult to find something of a similar size, location and proximity to MRT.

So personally, I wouldn’t buy Lagoon View because of the en bloc. I’d buy it only if you already like the unit and are comfortable holding it, then treat any future en bloc as a bonus
