Medini would remain as the gem of Iskandar.

During our meeting with one of the facilitators of Medini, we understand that Medini would remain as gem of Iskandar Malaysia.
This is because:
a) foreign buyers would be exempted from the RM1m floor price for property purchases in Medini, and
b) Medini would also be blanketed from the recently-announced hike in Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT).

However, the Johor state government would still go ahead with the property processing fee of 2% based on transaction value. Hence we believe that despite these measures in Iskandar, areas within Medini would still continue to see decent buying interests.
