We were delighted to co-host “The Siberian: Past, Present, Future” with the ULI Hong Kong Family Office Committee at The Siberian in Central, Hong Kong.
Part of what made the evening special was the venue itself. The Siberian is unmistakably Hong Kong—with a remarkably narrow footprint, a distinctive vertical sign, and a pragmatic, space-smart design. At the same time, it still carries the DNA of the Fong family’s Siberian fur business in thoughtful details throughout the building—right down to the elevator interior lined in mink!
The conversation went beyond the building, into how families make real estate decisions over long horizons—and how stewardship shows up in practice through choices to hold, improve, reposition, and lease.
A sincere thank you to Ms. Jennifer Fong for opening her family-owned building to the community and sharing the story behind its regeneration approach—showing that preserving legacy and improving functionality don’t have to be in conflict.
Grateful as well to everyone who joined and contributed thoughtful perspectives. Looking forward to continuing the dialogue with the family office community in the near future!
