✅ **New SSD Rules Take Effect from June 4, 2025 – What’s Changing in Singapore? 🇸🇬**

Late last night, the Ministry of National Development, Ministry of Finance, and MAS unveiled key updates to Seller’s Stamp Duty (SSD) for private residential properties purchased from midnight, July 4, 2025:

Holding period increased from 3 to 4 years

SSD rates jacked up by 4 pp at each tier 💰

**≤1 year:** from 12 % → **16 %**

1–2 years: 8 % → **12 %**

2–3 years: 4 % → **8 %**

3–4 years: 0 % → **4 %**

After 4 years: No SSD

🛑 **Why this matters:**

It’s a strong signal that the government is determined to curb speculative flipping, especially sub-sales of uncompleted units .

The aim? Encourage longer-term investment and ensure a more stable property market.
