You may have seen this in the news lately, that the government is going to claw back tax money from buyers who exploited the "99-1" scheme.

First of all, the "99-1" scheme is a perfectly legal manner of private property ownership. The government is not saying that you can't use this arrangement.

If you had used this ownership arrangement as a tool for asset progression, you have nothing to worry about.

The government is only going after those who exploited a "loophole" to use "99-1" arrangement to own more than 1 property without paying the full ABSD for the second or more properties.

I just visited Amber Park condo. A really classy project. It even has a roof top running track that spans the 3 blocks in the development!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Property hunters can look forward to more new launches in the first half of 2023, especially in the city fringes. This brings welcome relief for those who have been looking for a new property, but have found supply limited in 2022. More new launches, more options.

However, do not expect prices to drop any time soon. The new pricing benchmarks that we saw in 2022 will lead into 2023. Higher land and construction costs, coupled with supply chain challenges, mean that we can expect the current price points to maintain or even increase in the future.
