Is S$3,000 psf the new normal?
Maybe.
But the real story isn’t about PSF.
It’s about inflation, rising incomes, land scarcity, and Singapore’s continued growth as a global city.
Twenty years ago, S$1,000 psf sounded expensive.
Ten years ago, S$2,000 psf sounded expensive.
Today, many are debating S$3,000 psf.
Property prices don’t rise because of PSF.
PSF rises because the value of land, money, labour, and the city itself continues to increase.
Over the long term, Singapore property has generally stayed ahead of inflation.
The question isn’t whether S$3,000 psf is expensive today.
The question is what S$3,000 psf will look like ten years from now.
