Will there be another round of cooling measures?

The Singapore government has been monitoring the property market very closely & may adjust policies if needed in order to maintain a stable and sustainable property market. This is due to consectutive quarters of price increases and robust new launch condo sales depsite a global pandemic.

The previous cooling measure was implemented back in 2017/2018 one day after the government announced its concerns. There was a 5% increase of Additional Buyer Stamp Duty (ABSD) for 2nd & 3rd properties, forgeiners and entities.

There is a possibility that history may repeat itself, but let's continue to keep watch!

This is the first time a residential plot of land reached the end of its lease and returned to the State.

The residential plot of land at Geylang Lorong 3 is slated for a new public housing development as part of a plan to rejuvenate Kallang.

The next residential plot of land reaching the end of its lease in 2034 is 70-year-old leasehold private houses at:
- Jalan Chempaka Kuning
- Jalan Chempaka Puteh
