Direct flights between Slovenia and the USA are coming back!

From May 2027, United Airlines will operate four weekly direct flights between Newark and Ljubljana, restoring a direct air link between Slovenia and the US after nearly four decades.

Sports stars such as Tadej Pogačar and Luka Dončič have become famous names the world over but cycling and basketball are not the only sports in which Slovenia punches above its weight.

Slovenia has just taken the team title in the European paragliding championships, with star pilot Tilen Ceglar taking the title in the male category. Well done, Team Slovenia!

Paragliding is a highly popular activity in Slovenia, with the most popular sites being Vogel / Lake Bohinj, Kobarid and the Soča Valley, and Bovec, with the latter allowing participants to enjoy the most dramatic mountain views.
