🛑:3rd Mundari Cultural Festival set for January 16 in Terekeka
The 3rd Mundari Cultural Festival will be held from January 16–18, 2026, under the theme “Celebrating Mundari Culture to Promote Peaceful Coexistence in South Sudan,” officials announced Friday.
The Ministry of Culture, Museums and National Heritage, through Undersecretary Malok Majak Malok, confirmed the dates and reaffirmed full government support, saying the festival promotes unity, peace and cultural preservation.
Organizing chairperson Bush Buse said all 10 payams of Terekeka will participate, showcasing traditional dances, wrestling, rituals and exhibitions. Thousands of visitors are expected to attend, with activities including poetry, cultural games and peace dialogues.
Terekeka County Commissioner Dr. Emmanuel Loku said the county is ready to host the event, citing improved security and stability.
Organizers say the festival will serve as a platform for youth engagement, cultural pride and national cohesion beyond entertainment.
