Benchakitti Park is a new landmark in Bangkok that has become very popular after the reduction of the COVID-19 situation. People of all age groups, both Thais and foreigners, come here for relaxation, exercising, and a variety of activities.
The garden consists of nature trails, running paths, bike paths, an area for studying ecosystems and nature, a learning center, a museum, and an activity ground, including a "skywalk" that connects to nearby parks, which is part of a project to transform Bangkok into an Amazing Natural Park City.
This public park was developed as a new "lung” of the city of Bangkok from the original area of the to***co factory. It was designed under the concept of "planting trees in the hearts and minds of the people,” in response to the aspirations of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX) and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
From June to August, the Royal Thai Army is holding “Music in the Garden” performances in the evenings on weekends, from 17.00 to 19.00 hr.

The Ministry of Public Health has emphasized that the public should pay attention to the differences between dengue fever and COVID-19, as there is a rising number of dengue fever patients in many areas in Thailand.

Lately, there is some weather turbulence and rain causing waterlogging, which is a good breeding ground for the Aedes mosquito; besides, there is also the spread of COVID-19, which may cause people to be confused between the two diseases.

The ministry advises the public to observe the patients' symptoms closely, especially children, who easily get sick, as some of the COVID-19 symptoms may seem like dengue fever, such as having a fever, body aches, and diarrhea. If anyone has these symptoms, they should test with ATK to screen for COVID-19. The other way to know which disease they have is to have a complete blood count test to look for the dengue fever's protein in the first three days of having a fever.

The danger signs that indicate that the patient is in the critical period of dengue fever are having severe stomach aches, cold limbs, a temperature 39 degrees Celsius or higher, panting faster than usual, diarrhea, or continuous vomiting. If so, the patient should be taken to the hospital immediately.

There is no antiviral drug for dengue fever, so the treatment is to manage the symptoms, mainly giving paracetamol to lower the fever (avoid using aspirin and ibuprofen because they can aggravate gastritis or bleeding).

MOPH has recommended how to dispose of used Antigen Tests Kits (ATK) safely and reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

A used ATK is waste contaminated with secretions. This is a high-risk waste and may spread COVID-19, so it should be disposed of properly.
When disposing of a used ATK, put it into two trash bags. In the first bag, after putting in the used ATK, pour disinfectant or bleach on it, and then tie the bag tightly and spray it with disinfectant or 70% alcohol.
After that, place the first bag inside another bag and tie the outer bag tightly with string. Then, spray it with disinfectant again.
After disposing of infectious waste, please clean your hands immediately with soap or alcohol gel.
