Bangkok earthquake, Fri 28 Mar 2025 at 1320 hours:

I was driving. I thought my car tyre punctured or I had high blood pressure. I later realized that it was an earthquake.

Bangkok was in state of complete disorder and confusion. All high rise building got closed, everyone on the road for many hours. Mass transit shut down. People cannot get back home. Road traffic in snail pace. I was stuck total 6 hours on the road, 4 hours one way plus 2 hours while returning. Earthquake in Thailand very rare. This one probably worst in Thailand history.

One 30-floor Government building under construction in Jatuchak Weekend Market, Bangkok collapsed. Few Bangkok buildings got cracked.

Omni Tower (Complex)'s contractor was Phillipp Holzmann, German-based and world's third biggest contractor. When we were about to start construction in 1993, we finally decided for additional budget of Baht 24 million to level up building strength from original budget, probably worth over Baht 100s million today. Omni Tower completed construction and ready for occupancy in 1996. Our decision, fully proven today, Omni Tower stood against earthquake, no damage in anyway.
