【Tourism Minister Proposes 3.5 Billion Baht Subsidy Scheme to Boost Domestic Travel】

Tourism Minister Sorawong Thienthong plans to request 3.5 billion baht from the government’s emergency budget to fund the new Rao Thiew Duak Kan (We Travel Together) programme. The initiative will offer 1 million vouchers to Thai tourists, providing 50% subsidies on hotel rooms and meals from May to September 2025.
This marks an increase from the previous 40% subsidy rate under the same programme, which was launched during the pandemic to revive the struggling tourism sector.

Sorawong expects the vouchers to be in high demand and is considering whether to include airfare subsidies. Additionally, the ministry may create a central platform for tourism and hotel businesses to join the scheme.

【ADB เรียกร้องให้ประเทศไทยใช้การเงินสีเขียวเพื่อความยืดหยุ่นต่อสภาพภูมิอากาศ】

ประเทศไทยจำเป็นต้องเร่งปรับโครงสร้างเศรษฐกิจเพื่อจัดการกับการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ตามที่นายอานุช เมธา ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานธนาคารพัฒนาเอเชีย (ADB) ประจำประเทศไทย กล่าวในงานสัมมนา "Road to Net zero : The Extraordinary Green" เขาได้เน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของระบบการเงินที่สนับสนุนเศรษฐกิจสีเขียวท่ามกลางความท้าทายจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศที่เพิ่มขึ้น เช่น สภาพอากาศที่ไม่แน่นอนและภัยพิบัติทางธรรมชาติ

นายเมธาได้ระบุว่าภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิกต้องการเงินประมาณ 1.7 ล้านล้านเหรียญสหรัฐต่อปีภายในปี 2030 สำหรับการสร้างโครงสร้างพื้นฐานที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม โดย ADB ได้ร่วมมือกับหน่วยงานต่างๆ ในประเทศไทยเพื่อออกพันธบัตรด้านความยั่งยืน ซึ่งสามารถระดมทุนได้เกือบ 1 พันล้านเหรียญสหรัฐ และยังดึงดูดเงินลงทุนเพิ่มได้อีก 1 หมื่นล้านเหรียญสหรัฐ เขาเรียกร้องให้มีการแก้ปัญหานวัตกรรมทางการเงินและการสนับสนุนจากรัฐบาลมากขึ้นเพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกในการลงทุนในโครงการสีเขียว เช่น ภาษีคาร์บอนที่เชื่อมโยงกับการลดมลพิษ

Thailand needs to expedite its economic restructuring to address climate change effectively, according to Anuch Metha, director of the Asian Development Bank’s Thailand office. Speaking at the "Road to Net Zero 2024: The Extraordinary Green" seminar, he highlighted the importance of a financial system that supports a green economy amidst increasing climate challenges, such as unpredictable weather and natural disasters.

Metha noted that the Asia-Pacific region requires approximately $1.7 trillion annually by 2030 for climate-friendly infrastructure. The ADB has collaborated with various agencies in Thailand to issue sustainability bonds, raising nearly $1 billion, which attracted an additional $10 billion from the market. He urged for innovative financial solutions and greater government support to facilitate investment in green projects, suggesting measures like a carbon tax linked to pollution reduction.

Examples of ongoing green initiatives include Cambodia's 100-megawatt solar park and Thailand's investments in e-tuk tuks and e-buses, showcasing the region's commitment to transitioning towards a sustainable economy.

【ส่งออกอัญมณีไทยพุ่ง 6.65% ด้วยมูลค่ากว่า 5,100 ล้านดอลลาร์ฯ ในครึ่งปีแรก】

สถาบันวิจัยและพัฒนาอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับแห่งชาติ (GIT) รายงานเมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ผ่านมาว่าการส่งออกเครื่องประดับและอัญมณีของไทยในช่วง 7 เดือนแรกของปี 2567 ขยายตัวถึง 6.65% คิดเป็นมูลค่ารวมกว่า 5,103 ล้านเหรียญสหรัฐฯ (ประมาณ 172,780 ล้านบาท) โดยไม่รวมเครื่องประดับทอง เมื่อรวมเครื่องประดับทองแล้ว มูลค่าการส่งออกรวมตั้งแต่ ม.ค.-ก.ค. 2567 ขยายตัวถึง 13.86% เมื่อเทียบกับช่วงเดียวกันของปีก่อน โดยนายสุเมธ ประสงค์พงษ์ชัย ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันวิจัยและพัฒนาอัญมณีและเครื่องประดับแห่งชาติ (GIT) เปิดเผยว่า ความตึงเครียดทางภูมิรัฐศาสตร์และความเชื่อมั่นผู้บริโภคที่ลดลงส่งผลให้มูลค่าการส่งออกเครื่องประดับที่ไม่ใช่ทองคำในเดือนมิ.ย.-ก.ค. 2567 ลดลง อย่างไรก็ตาม มูลค่าส่งออกที่รวมเครื่องประดับทองคำเข้ามาด้วยนั้นทำให้ตัวเลขการส่งออกโดยรวมเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างมาก โดยในเดือนกรกฎาคมเพียงเดือนเดียวมีมูลค่ารวมกว่า 17,2800 ล้านดอลลาร์ ซึ่งเพิ่มขึ้น 114.28% จากเดือนก่อนหน้า การส่งออกเครื่องประดับทองคำพุ่งขึ้น 434.13% เมื่อเทียบกับเดือนมิถุนายน โดยแตะระดับ 11,800 ล้านดอลลาร์ ซึ่งได้รับแรงหนุนจากราคาทองคำที่พุ่งสูงเกิน 2,480 ดอลลาร์ต่อออนซ์

【Thai Jewelry Exports Climb 6.65% to $5.1 Billion in First Half of 2024】

Thai jewelry and gem exports saw a notable increase of 6.65% in the first seven months of this year, reaching a total value of $5.103 billion (approximately 172.78 billion baht), as reported by the Gem and Jewellery Institute of Thailand (GIT) on Monday. This figure excludes gold ornaments; when including them, the total export value from January to July rises to $9.301 billion, reflecting a 13.86% increase compared to the same period last year. GIT director Sumeth Prasongphongchai noted that geopolitical tensions and a decline in consumer confidence led to a drop in the export value of non-gold ornaments in June and July. However, the inclusion of gold ornaments significantly boosted the overall export figures, with July alone seeing a remarkable total of $1.728 billion, marking a 114.28% increase from the previous month. Gold ornament exports surged by 434.13% compared to June, reaching $1.18 billion, driven by soaring gold prices exceeding $2,480 per ounce.

【ร้านขายบุหรี่ที่ไม่มีป้ายรณรงค์เลิกบุหรี่จะถูกปรับ 5,000 บาท】

นายแพทย์ธงชัย กีรติหัตถยากร อธิบดีกรมควบคุมโรค กล่าวไว้เมื่อวันอังคารว่า ตั้งแต่วันพุธที่ 21 สิงหาคมนี้เป็นต้นไป ผู้ค้าบุหรี่และยาสูบทั่วประเทศจำเป็นต้องติดป้ายรณรงค์ให้ลดหรือเลิกบุหรี่ หากผู้ขายไม่ติดป้ายดังกล่าวที่แผงขายของตน จะถูกปรับสูงสุดถึง 5,000 บาท

นายแพทย์ธงชัยยังกล่าวอีกว่าป้ายรณรงค์เลิกบุหรี่ต้องมีขนาดสูงอย่างน้อย 7 เซนติเมตร และกว้าง 21 เซนติเมตร ต้องมองเห็นได้ชัดเจนที่แผงขายตลอดเวลาที่เปิดทำการ โดยสามารถติดป้ายมากกว่าหนึ่งป้ายได้

ผู้ที่ไม่ติดป้ายตามที่กำหนดจะถือว่าละเมิดพระราชบัญญัติควบคุมผลิตภัณฑ์ยาสูบ พ.ศ. 2560 ซึ่งมีโทษปรับสูงสุด 5,000 บาท

【THB 5,000 Penalty Imposed on Cigarette Stalls Lacking Quit Smoking Signage】

From Wednesday, August 21, retailers of ci******es and to***co nationwide are required to put up signs urging people to cut down on or quit smoking.

Sellers who do not put up the signs at their stalls will be fined at up to 5,000 baht, Dr Thongchai Keratihuttayakorn, director general of the Department of Disease Control, said on Tuesday. Thongchai said the quit-smoking sign must be at least 7 centimetres high and 21cm wide, and must be clearly visible at the stall throughout its opening hours. More than one sign can be put up, he added.

Those who fail to display the sign as required are considered to be violating the To***co Products Control Act of 2017, punishable by a maximum fine of 5,000 baht, he said.

【Thailand Welcomes Over 21 Million Tourists and Generates 1 Trillion Baht in Revenue】

Thailand has welcomed over 21 million foreign tourists this year, generating approximately 1.03 trillion baht in revenue, according to Tourism and Sports Minister Sermsak Pongpanich. From January 1 to August 11, a total of 21,796,763 tourists visited Thailand, with a 1.52% increase in arrivals from distant countries last week, driven by the European summer break.

The leading nationalities visiting Thailand include:

การท่องเที่ยวแห่งประเทศไทย (ททท.) เปิดตัวโครงการ “Amazing Thailand Passion Ambassador” ซึ่งเป็นโครงการใหม่ที่เชิญชวนนักท่องเที่ยวมาร่วมแบ่งปันประสบการณ์การท่องเที่ยวในประเทศไทยผ่าน TikTok

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched “Amazing Thailand Passion Ambassador” – a new initiative inviting travellers to share their travel experiences in Thailand on TikTok.

For a chance to win 2 million baht in prizes, participants simply need to create a TikTok video showcasing their meaningful adventures in Thailand and include the hashtags and . The 80 videos with the highest engagement will receive travel vouchers, while the first 2,000 to qualify will earn a complimentary gift.

Krabi’s Maya Bay was named the fifth-best beach in the world this year, as per a survey conducted by London-based startup, Beachatlas. The ranking was granted based on criteria like natural beauty, vibrant lifestyles, inclusive atmosphere, deep-rooted community ties and significant cultural heritage.

According to the Beachatlas ranking, Maya Bay on Phi Phi Leh island can be considered one of the world’s most picturesque and popular destinations. "Maya Bay, Thailand's showstopper, boasts clear blue waters, dramatic cliffs, and beautiful white sand. It's not just nature's masterpiece but also a Hollywood star, thanks to ‘The Beach’ and Leonardo DiCaprio," it said.

วันอาสาฬหบูชาเป็นวันที่พระพุทธเจ้าได้ทรงแสดงธรรมเทศนา หรือหลักธรรมที่ทรงตรัสรู้เป็นครั้งแรก และวันถัดไปคือวันเข้าพรรษาซึ่งเป็นวันแรกที่พระสงฆ์ต้องเข้าจำพรรษาในช่วงฤดูฝน เนื่องจากวันอาสาฬหบูชาและวันเข้าพรรษาถือเป็นวันสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อพุทธศาสนิกชนชาวไทย ทาง Mile Green ขอให้ทุกท่านมีความสุขความเจริญในวันอาสาฬหบูชาและวันเข้าพรรษานี้
