**FREEHOLD vs LEASEHOLD — what’s the difference? 🏢🏡**
For foreign buyers in Thailand, understanding the ownership structure is important before making a decision.
🔵 **FREEHOLD**
Commonly used for condominiums under the **Foreign Ownership Quota**. You own the unit in your name and can sell or transfer it in the future.
🔴 **LEASEHOLD**
Often used for houses or villas where foreigners cannot directly own the land. You receive the right to use the property for an agreed period, subject to the lease contract.
