3. Double Skin + Green Buffer
Filtration
5. Smart Ventilation
6. Material
8. Passive Design =

"A good home isn't just beautiful—it needs to breathe."
Designing homes to be "Energy-Efficient + PM2.5-Free" is the new standard of living!
Here are 8 essential design principles to turn your home into a cool, healthy, and safe sanctuary:
1. Wind Direction = Less AC + Less Dust
Orienting your home to catch natural breezes reduces reliance on air conditioning and prevents PM2.5 from building up indoors.
2. The Sun = Your Electricity Bill’s Worst Enemy
Design sun shading from the very beginning! Overhangs, facades, and awnings can block out over 30% of external heat.
3. Double Skin & Green Buffer
Adding a secondary architectural facade or planting trees around the house acts as a natural shield, filtering dust and reducing heat before it even touches your walls.
4. Openings = Dust Traps
Windows and vents must be designed to "catch the breeze, not the dust," utilizing pressure control and proper filtration systems.
5. Smart Ventilation
Modern homes shouldn't rely solely on AC. A proper ventilation system with built-in dust filtration (like an ERV or Fresh Air System) is a must for bringing in clean oxygen.
6. Materials Matter
Using high-quality insulation, proper wall materials, and Low-E glass reduces heat retention, meaning your AC doesn't have to work as hard!
7. Seal It Right
A poorly sealed home means dust gets in, cool air leaks out, and electricity bills skyrocket. Good weatherstripping is crucial.
8. Passive Design = True Efficiency
Designing your home to be naturally cool without relying on machines is the ultimate, most sustainable way to save energy.
"If you're planning to build a house, don't just focus on aesthetics. Ask yourself: 'Will this home still be comfortable to live in 20 years from now?'"
