🚆 Phuket Rail Link Plan: Why investors are watching the bigger picture
Phuket is not standing still.
The proposed Phuket light rail / tram plan is designed to connect Phuket International Airport down through Phuket Town and towards Chalong.

For investors, this is not about saying “buy only because of a train.”
That would be the wrong way to look at it.
The bigger point is that Phuket is slowly becoming a more connected and more developed international property market.
At the same time, Thailand has wider national rail plans, including the Bangkok–Nong Khai high-speed rail project, with future connection onward through Laos and China.
So the question for long-term investors is simple:
Which Phuket locations may benefit most from better access, better transport, stronger tourism, and long-term infrastructure growth?
For me, the basics still come first:
✅ Location
✅ Price per sqm
✅ Developer strength
✅ Rental demand
✅ Management
✅ Running costs
✅ Resale value
But infrastructure is one of the things that can change an area over time.
Phuket is already one of Thailand’s strongest property markets. Better transport and connectivity only make the long-term story more interesting.
