1⃣ Türkiye began to receive its own gas found in the Black Sea.

As a result, residents will begin to receive new bills for the use of natural gas. The invoices for gas consumption during the period from April 24 to May 31 will be zero. There will be no charges for natural gas from distribution companies for homes, as well as cultural and several other facilities for the aforementioned period. The corresponding decree was published in the May 1 Government Gazette. In addition, there will be no charge for the use of 25 m3 of natural gas throughout the year; only what exceeds this amount will have to be paid.

2⃣ In Türkiye, the largest solar power plant (SPP) in Europe opens on May 5.

It will be named "Karapınar" and will operate in the province of Konya. The capacity of the SES will make 1350 MW, and it occupies an area of 20 million m2. In total, the solar power plant has 3,256,038 solar panels. The plant will increase the share of the installed capacity of solar energy in Türkiye by 20%.
Annually, "Karapınar" will produce about 3 billion kilowatts of electricity. This is enough to meet the electricity needs of about 2 million people. And thanks to the solar power plant, 2 million tons of hazardous substances will be prevented from being released into the environment.

3⃣ A large field of high-quality oil has been discovered in Türkiye.

The oil has been found in the southeast of the country, in the province of Şırnak. The capacity of the new field is estimated at 100 thousand barrels per day. The oil is found at a depth of 2,600 meters. To produce it 100 wells will be drilled.

4⃣ A new type of ice cream has been invented in Türkiye.

Students and professors of Bosphorus University used seaweed to create ice cream.
For the first time, the unusual ice cream was presented at the Teknofest festival recently held in Istanbul.
Those who tasted the ice cream were delighted with it, saying that it turned out unusual, but very tasty.

5⃣ In Türkiye the term for using unregistered foreign mobile devices will be increased to 180 days. Previously the term was 120 days.

️⛔️ What happens if you do not extend your Turkish visa

You can stay in Türkiye for up to 90 days without a visa (depending on your country). If you want to stay longer, you have to apply for it at the Migration Office. Take care of it in advance, so as not to pay fines. An expired residence permit is also subject to a fine.
⠀
If you do not extend it, you must leave the country immediately.
⠀
What should you do if the deadline is over and you have not renewed your visa or residence permit but you did not leave in time?
⠀
Be prepared for customs control, whichever way you choose to leave. If you violate the regime, you become a trespasser and no one will look at the reasons why this happened.
⠀
2. You will have to pay a fine of at least 150 TL if delayed up to 10 days, and a maximum of up to several thousand if more. The amount of the fine depends on the length of the overstayed visa. Paid only in cash and Turkish currency for each family member, including children.
⠀
The fine days are counted from the day following the last day of your legal stay. For example, if you have 30 days without a visa, from the 31st you are overdue.
⠀
In addition to the fine at departure, you can get a ban on entering the country for 5 years. If you pay it in full there will be no ban or it will be minimal - 1-3 months.
To avoid the consequences of overstaying, notify the Migration Service about the violation. It will be recorded and a receipt will be issued at the Tax Office.
⠀
When you leave Türkiye the paid receipt should be shown at the customs office. Do not delay paying the fine, it will lead to a court case, fines, and a ban on entry because you will be deported.
⠀
If you pay the fine, you can return to the country and have 10 days to process it.
⠀
The fines have increased significantly: in 2023 you will pay 2,000 Turkish Liras more than in 2022.
