It was the largest church of Christianity until the Turks conquered Constantinople in 1453. The cathedral was converted into a mosque and four minarets were built surrounding the original building and Muslim artists have covered part of the Byzantine mosaic tiles that were written in golden letters cited from the Koran. The mosque is popularly known as the Blue Mosque for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior. It was built from 1609 to 1616, during the rule of Ahmed I. Like many other mosques, it also comprises a tomb of the founder, a madrasah and a hospice. While still used as a mosque, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque has also become a popular tourist attraction. Mehmed II ordered the construction of the palace immediately after the conquest of Constantinople in 1453. Final form of the palace which covers an area of 700,000 square meters were added wall 1400 meters long. Along the wall there are three main gates: gate Otluk, Demir gate and the Imperial gate (Bab-i Humayun), and several smaller gates. After the kingdom of Mohammed II the Conqueror, the palace grew steadily to form a complex of buildings and annexes. Main gate, Bab-i Humayun, is located near the Akbıyık, she leading visitors to the four courts surrounded by various structures. The Grand Bazaar is located inside the walled city of Istanbul, in the district of Fatih and in the neighborhood (Turkish: Mahalle) bearing the same name ("Kapalıçarşı"). It stretches roughly from west to east between the mosques of Beyazit and of Nuruosmaniye. The Bazaar can easily be reached from Sultanahmet and Sirkeci by tram ( Line "T1", tram stop "Beyazıt-Kapalıçarşı").

Location is good. Might need to hail a cab if you have bags from the sultanahmet station. Host is very helpful. Facilities are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great location, very close walking distance to Sultanahmet attractions (Blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basalica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Hippodrome) and Sultanahmet tram stop to Basiktas (Domalbahce Palace) and along the way Eminonu, Karakoy, Tophane. Comfortable bed, great daily breakfast. Building was a little old, don't expect great facilities (toilet flooding after shower, dusty room) Overall value for money.

It is quite difficult to find the hotel since the name of hotel is not easily seen. However, the location is nearby to the main tourism venues. It took only 5 minutes to Blue Mosque and Hagya Sofya by walk. I got a quite compact room with a bit competitive price since the summer was over :). Anyway, I just used it for a sleep at night. They got one staff on duty for each shift. Both of them day and night shift are helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a solo or couple traveller and not for family due to the limited room's space. :)

Hotel is in good location. Just behind the blue Mosque. Few mins walk to all interesting places. Though a bit small yet the room are cosy, clean with a good seaview from the balcony. Simple yet nice breakfast in the roof top terrace with Seaview too. Staff named Ramadhan very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

Friendly staff, comfortable clean and airconditioned room, location.
Really pleasant stay, staff very friendly helpful and spoke good English, free wi fi, and bathrooms quite large in comparison to other European Budget Hotels. Rooms had nice views, we're comfortable and clean. Only two suggestions: the hotel is not well marked and address hard to find, some better juice at breakfast. Will stay there again.
