在台灣，建設產業成敗的主因往往不在房屋產品本身，而在於景氣的掌握、土地原料的操作、資本市場的運作、成本的控制、全然以地段為階級導向的產品定位、以及因應預售市場以投資工具為導向的產品規劃等等。建築學人的成立，從名字即展現出我們非主流的企圖–不做房地產，而是矢志成為一家「建築商品製造公司」，以「為目標居住者製作好房子」為唯一考量，摒棄房地產所有操作準則，無論大環境如何變遷，無論到哪裡蓋房子，建築學人只以「為台灣人打造國際級好建築」為志業。
