Seasons Lodge is a new 11 room boutique hotel, in Pongwe on the east coast of Zanzibar, an hours drive away from the airport. The Lodge comprises eight individual cottages with walled garden and sandy beach front, and three second story rooms, all with spectacular ocean vistas. The cottages are accessed through a lush tropical garden walkway and sandy paths.

At Seasons Residences, the quiet details are planned before anyone arrives.

We live and operate in Zanzibar, so we know what needs planning for. Solar generation, backup systems and internet resilience are built into the specification from the outset, keeping the site steady in the background.

The Seasons Beach Club is part of the plan from day one.

At Seasons Residences, the amenity plan is part of the operating structure: residents' lagoon pool, Beach Club and infinity pool, Wellness, Spa and Fitness, coworking and events space — all operational from handover.

These spaces are designed for residents and rental guests to use within the same integrated hospitality site.

Two months quiet on here — the rains have been heavy as has the work, just not been the kind of work that makes it on to social media.

Seasons Lodge closed its doors at the end of February. What comes next is 47 beachfront residences, built in a forgotten palm grove at the rear of the site — the same stretch of Zanzibar's East Coast that we've operated on for fifteen years.

The lodge is being rebuilt, the existing villas upcycled. A beach club with resort amenities is replacing Temple Bar.

Fifteen years, a thousand sunrises, and the beach around which it was all built.
The Lodge may be closing, but not before one final gathering — a necessary homage to our legendary Sunday Sessions, the Sunday Sessions All Stars DJ Collective taking us through the eargasmic, boombastic memories of all that we were, with some limited rooms (and late check-out) for anyone staying over.
This is the moment Seasons turns, the moment when we reveal what comes next, a Party to signal an end and a beginning, a closing and a launch party.

After fifteen years on the Pongwe coast, Seasons Lodge closed its doors on 28th February 2026.

We're throwing a Seasons End party on 21st March — details to follow — so that everyone who was part of this, the loved and the lost, the legends and the regulars, the waifs and the strays, might all say their goodbyes.

A new Seasons begins that weekend.
All good things come to an end — some come back better.
