The Remnants of the Remnants
Activists have to start facing up to the truth about the last 30 months. We've not made a single dent in the policy agenda. 100,000's on the streets, thousands of emails, open letters and petitions. None of it has achieved anything & things continue to get worse by the day. Apologists will say we've raised awareness. That is true but what is the evidence that the number has grown? Awareness alone is not a plan or a solution it's the beginning of one. So we ask at this most urgent time, what is the plan?
There's no time to rebuild democracy as though nothing had changed it. As though these were normal democratic times. We're living through a global coup where the nature of freedom is being redefined before our eyes ever so stealthily. Money will shortly be programmable and this has the potential to fundamentally change liberty and our relationship to the state. Moreover it allows the state complete control over dissent or even criticism. Laws have, and are being changed to aid this new power to ensure that consent cannot be withdrawn without severe restrictions or penalty.
The plan can only be to build an alternative reality. To group together and create self sufficiency wherever we are. In respect of home and local economy. To disregard the political system completely and focus on how we can exist outside of it.
For most people surrender will be their preferred option. Psychologically they've already been defeated by the sheer scale of the offence. Overwhelmed by the enemy they will rationalise "a few more freedoms will make no difference to my family in the end, it's the price of security". What remains will be a very very small group of people perhaps less than 50,000 who will be forced against unprecedented coercion and group think to vote with their feet. It will never be possible again for these people to live in western civilisation. Most of them already know this but are still in denial.
Some like us, reached this conclusion over a year ago and left. We did not leave our families and beloved vistas with smiles. We miss the life we once had. The beauty of it, but we could not in the end live without being free. We could not listen to anymore lies on a daily basis or watch another failed policy innocently destroy those around us. The pain of all of it was too great, & as sensitive people leaving was our final & desperately sad decision. However it's now a great opportunity as pioneers to forge as many before us a new world. A reminder of who we are as a species, to embrace the best of our creativity, technology, engineering & connection to nature. To show for the first time that there need not be too great a sacrifice for freedom. That life can remain beautiful still in different parts of the world.
We invite you to join us in pioneering that showcase. It may not be today, but one day soon you may be one of the very few that says no more, no further. You are the remnant of the remnant. The ones that will lead the future of humanity, those that insist on a Liberty Place.
