Tetiana Ya. Hospodarchuk has been the head of the Radist kindergarten, that is situated in Myru Street in Irpin, for 33 years. Since 1997, the kindergarten has been her second home. But now its walls are covered with ash and soot, and some of them are completely gone off.
400 children studied in the kindergarten with such a wonderful name “Radist”. All of them received quality education, developed their skills and were prepared for school. About 150 children graduate from here every year. There was a good tradition in the kindergarten: at the end of the year the graduates gave a concert, demonstrating everything they had learned over the preschool years. They sang, danced and laughed a lot. A real graduation party!” This year all that has gone off. There is no holiday for our children anymore. Instead, there are only text messages with congratulations that the teachers sent their graduates,” says Tetiana Yakivna.
Over the last few years, the kindergarten has been regularly renovated: a year ago, the high-quality facade insulation was made here, and before that, the pavement was changed. But today after the invasion of the Russian army in Irpin, the preschool needs major repairs.
As a result of the repeated artillery attacks to the residential areas of the city on March 6, a shell hit the preschool building, which caused a fire. There was a big fire in the kindergarten, which almost totally destroyed the second floor. In addition, in some places there are practically no roof - there also could be found mines and shells, which left large holes in the ceiling. Tetiana Yakivna looks with great pain and pity at all these scars of war. “I remember how we chose this wallpaper many years ago. It was like yesterday. And today they are all black and burnt,” she says.
