Specializes in the production of rolling, metallurgical and mining equipment. In 2021, NKMZ reduced sales by 8.8% to UAH 6.5 billion. About 8,000 workers work at the 339-hectare plant.

Before the war, the company supplied about a third of its products to the domestic market. The main clients in the domestic market are Rinat Akhmetov's "Metinvest", Lakshmi Mittal's AMKR and Konstantin Zhevago's Ferrexpo. The company's profit largely depended on orders from mining companies in the post-Soviet space: 55% of NKMZ products are exported to former CIS countries and only 15.9% to other foreign markets.
