Nutrition for joints
Micronutrient deficiencies can cause significant damage to bone structure. Of course, micronutrients can be introduced into the body as part of vitamin and mineral complexes, but taking them with food is much more beneficial. Selenium, iron, zinc and boron are particularly important for bone tissue.
Selenium. Selenium is essential for strengthening joints and moisturises the joint. Selenium is found in garlic, kelp, unpeeled rice, oatmeal, and meat.
Iron. High levels of phosphorus can provoke bone deterioration. In order to regulate the amount of this macronutrient, iron must be obtained. It removes excess phosphorus. Sources of iron include the liver and tongue.
Zinc. This trace element stimulates regenerative processes and helps synthesize collagen fibers. It is found in unprocessed brown rice and meat.
Boron. Strengthens bone tissue. Found in all kinds of cabbage, nuts, prunes, sultanas, and seafood.
