Lviv International Airport reported 40% year-on-year growth in passenger numbers during the first eight months of 2019, with 1.445 million people using the airport. This leaves Lviv well placed to remain Ukraine’s busiest regional airport, and the country’s third most popular airport overall behind Kyiv’s Boryspil and Sikorsky airports.

Lviv International Airport is the largest air hub in western Ukraine and boasts modern terminal facilities dating back less than a decade to the city’s preparations for the 2012 European football championships. Lviv airport has benefited in recent years from an influx of new international airlines including prestige carriers such as Turkish Airlines and budget brands led by Wizz Air and Ryanair.
