Rakhiv is located in Zakarpatska Region (Western Ukraine) in the mountain valley, 430 m above the level sea-the most high-altitude town and regional center in Ukraine. Rakhiv is known as one of the most famous touristic and recreational center in the Western Ukraine. The administration of Carpathian Biosphere Reservation is situated in Rakhiv. The town, or more exactly the village Dilove (located very close to Rakhiv), is considered to be one of the Geographical Center of the Europe. The date of Rakhiv establishment is year 1447, but the written mention about this settlement is year 910. One of the first citizens were hutsuls. They were occupied by fishing, hunting, beekeeping. They lived in bulb, later built hutsul`s house-granjas. In November, 1918 in the village Yasinya was found the Hutsul Republic, which had the period of duration 6 months. This Republic has stopped its existence when Rakhiv was occupied by the Romanian army. In June, 1920 Rakhiv joined the Czechoslovak Republic. During the time when Zakarpatska Region was the part of Czechoslovak Republic the settlements of Rakhivshchina actively developed as centers of tourism. Once, Rakhiv was called the Hutsul Paris. This name is also used nowadays. The fascist occupation during The Second World war ended Region`s occupation by The Red Army and in 1945 Rakhiv, like the whole Zakarpatska Region entered to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialistic Republik. Rakhiv Plai offers you a wonderful holliday in one of the most beautiful towns in Transcarpathia-Rakhiv. Rakhiv is the historical center of Hutsul, and it is located in the heart of Europe. The cottage located on a mountain on the 950m above sea level and 500 meters above the city center. Such an arrangement is opening a beautiful view of Rakhiv and some of the highest tops of the Carpathians : Hoverla, Brebenskul, Pop Ivan, Black Mount (even the ruins of the observatory are visible in a good weather). The source of mineral water "Burkut" is situated in a 2 km from the cottage. We offer the cottage for 6-8 persons. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, living room, bathroom - the node and corridor. On the second floor - 3 double rooms. Outside there are a variety of swings for children and adults, a trampoline, barbecue, table tennis, volleyball, badbinton. You can also sit in the courtyard or on the terrace, swinging on hammocks or steamed in the sauna . You can also shoot with bows, crossbows and slingshots. Rakhiv Plai has its own ski lift (450 m) and a ski rental, toboggans, snow tubing. Spring, summer, autumn a great time to gather mushrooms, blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, herbs . At the request of the owner of guests prepare various dishes of the Hutsul cuisine. According to a prior it is possible to: ride a horse, sightseeing scenic walk (in the mountains) by car.
