*Good morning, here's Today's Devotion.* ( Day 253)
Wednesday 10 September 2025
By _Etyang_ _Richard_

*Topic* : Living A Life of Integrity

*Reading* : Psalm 15:1-5
[2]"He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;" ( *NKJV* )

*Luganda*
_Zabbuli_ _15:1-6_
2"Oyo atambulira mu bugolokofu, era akola obutuukirivu, Era ayogera eby'amazima mu mutima gwe."

[2]Ni mtu aendaye kwa ukamilifu,
Na kutenda haki.
Asemaye kweli kwa moyo wake,"

To pursue a life of integrity, believers need to follow the Lord and spend time in His Word.

In his psalms, King David often describes virtues that believers are to cultivate. God wants us to increasingly pursue truthfulness, righteousness, and honesty. To develop and maintain a spirit of integrity, we need to ...

Formulate our beliefs on the basis of Scripture. Our priorities should flow from our position as God’s children (2 Cor. 6:18). We must align our thinking with His Word.

Submit to Christ’s lordship. Jesus commands us to deny ourselves and follow Him (Mark 8:34). Wholehearted commitment to Him will help us resist temptation and pursue righteousness.

Build relationships with individuals who value godly living. The influence of mature Christians strengthens us in our dedication and obedience to the Lord.

Acknowledge our mistakes. Everyone misses the mark at times. As believers, we are to confess any known sin to God (1 John 1:9) and turn away from the wrong behavior. Asking forgiveness from others may also be necessary.

God has sent His Holy Spirit to teach us how to pursue righteousness. Ask Him to help you become more like the person described in Psalm 15.

*PRAYER* 🙏🧎🏻‍♂️🧎🏼
Father! You are highly exalted this morning. Receive all our thanks and praise. Lord, help us to live lives that are congrant to your desire, design, plan and purpose while we are still on the face of the earth in the mighty name of Jesus Christ *Amen*

*Topic* : God's Patience

*Reading* : 2 Peter 3:8-9
[9]"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." ( *NKJV* )

*Luganda*

[9]Bwana hakawii kuitimiza ahadi yake, k**a wengine wanavyokudhani kukawia, bali huvumilia kwenu, maana hapendi mtu ye yote apotee, bali wote wafikilie toba."

The Lord is patient so that all people have an opportunity to repent.

God’s seemingly slow reaction to sin is often puzzling to believers. Today’s passage tells us why the Lord is patient so that all people have an opportunity to repent (v. 9).

Jonah ran away from his duty to preach in Nineveh, because he expected that if the inhabitants atoned, his compassionate God would relent about destroying the city of the Israelites’ enemies. And that is precisely what came to pass. Instead of rejoicing in the Lord’s success, the prophet complained about His treating the Ninevites with grace and mercy (Jonah 4:1-2). Jonah was angry at God despite the fact that he had received such blessings himself.

More often than not, believers have ample reason to be thankful that the Lord, unlike human beings, is slow to anger (Ps. 145:8). When we are stubborn and unrepentant, He waits patiently for us to respond to conviction. Discipline is painful to both the recipient and the enforcer. God prefers that we see the error of our choices, stop thinking that we’re getting away with sin, and turn back to His righteous path.

The Lord places a high value on repentance and maintaining fellowship with Him. Do not wait for discipline. Instead, do whatwhat is right, and

No matter how difficult our situation, we can trust that God is in control.

Sometimes it is hard to understand God’s purposes for adversity. But the truth is, God works all things for our good.

David’s writings illustrate the importance of trusting that the Lord is in control, no matter how difficult the situation. God spared him when he was running for his life from King Saul and again when he yielded to temptation with Bathsheba. Later, when his son attempted a coup, God protected David and preserved his throne. Through all of these unfortunate circumstances, it became clear that God was guarding and guiding him every step of the way and using him for extraordinary purposes, despite his human failings. These experiences taught David to trust wholeheartedly in the Lord’s sovereignty.

Those of us in challenging situations must ask ourselves, Do I believe God is in control? If He is not, who is? In other words, if life events are random and without purpose, then to whom do we turn during trials?

In 1 Chronicles 29:12, David says that God rules over everything and has the power to strengthen you. Have faith in the Lord’s ability to deliver you from any hardship. Though you may not always understand His reasons, you can nevertheless trust His purposes.

Father! We give you thanks and acknowledge your sovereignty reverently. Lord, manifest in the different situations of our lives that seem to be beyond our efforts to your glory in the migh

*Topic* : Baptism Is Identifying With Christ.

*Reading* : Mathew 3:13-17
13 " Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him." ( *KJV* )

*Luganda*
_Matayo_ _3:13_ - _17_
13"Awo Yesu n'ava e Ggaliraaya, n'atuuka ku Yoludaani eri Yokaana, amubatize."

*Swahili*
_Mathayo_ _3:13_ - _17_
[13]Wakati huo Yesu akaja kutoka Galilaya mpaka Yordani kwa Yohana ili abatizwe."

Baptism demonstrates our connection with the Lord and other believers.

Christ began His public ministry with baptism. At the time, John the Baptist was calling people to confess sin and demonstrate repentance through immersion in the river. So why did Jesus, the sinless One, ask to be baptized?

At first, John actually refused, knowing that Jesus was the “Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). But Jesus told him to allow it; He was sacrificially identifying with us and demonstrating full obedience to God.

As Christians, we are called to follow His example, becoming more like Him. That is why baptism is so important in following Jesus. He was willing to identify Himself with us, and we likewise publicly align with Him when we are baptized. It is a symbolic way of declaring, “I have trusted Jesus as my Savior, and I believe that He died on the cross and rose again. I will show my love for Him by following His example for the rest of my days. I will walk in the Lord’s will and spend eternity with Him.”

Baptism demonstrates our connection not only with the Lord but also with our spiritual brothers and sisters past, present, and future. Joining everyone who has walked before us in faith, we are saying that we are members of one body, redeemed and given new life by the same Lord.

*PRAYER* 🙏🧎🏻‍♂️🧎🏿‍♀️
Father in Heaven! Once again I thank and worship you. Lord, thank you for making me part of your family and may you continue to work in me

we see that revival, beginning or re-energizing a personal relationship with Christ will require us to be aware that revival never goes unopposed.

The first thing we need to know about our enemy is that he tends to use the same tactics over and over again. I suppose he operates by the old adage, “If it am not broke, do not fix it.” He has used the same techniques and plans since the Garden of Eden, and they have worked with great effect to bring down countless people. Therefore, he just keeps bringing them back, generation after generation.

That is the bad news. The good news is that we know how to plan for them. That is why the apostle Paul wrote, “Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes” (2 Corinthians 2:11 NLT).

The devil’s strategies are no mystery to people who study Scripture. The apostle Peter wrote, “Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8 NLT). Paul wrote, “Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14 NLT). And Jesus Himself said, “He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44 NLT). Because he’s a master of disguise and a skilled liar, we must always be on guard.

One of his go-to moves is to catch you off guard with a temptation that exploits a vulnerable area of

*Topic* : Disciples Indeed

*Reading* : Acts 17:6
“‘Paul and Silas have caused trouble all over the world,’ they shouted, ‘and now they are here disturbing our city, too.’”
*(NLT)*

*Luganda*
_Ebikolwa_ _17:6_
"Bwe bataabalaba, ne bawalula Yasooni n'ab'oluganda abamu okubatwala mu maaso g'abakulu ab'omu kibuga nga boogerera waggulu nti Bano abavuunika ensi bazze ne wano;"

[6]na walipowakosa, wakamkokota Yasoni na baadhi ya ndugu mbele ya wakubwa wa mji, wakipiga kelele, wakisema, Watu hawa walioupindua ulimwengu wamefika huku nako,"

The Christian life is more than just saying a prayer, walking down an aisle, and receiving “fire insurance,” as it were. The Christian life is meant to be dynamic. It is meant to be exciting. It is meant to have a radical effect on the way you live, because Jesus Christ not only wants to be your Savior, but He also wants to be your Lord. He not only wants to be your friend, but He also wants to be your God.

In Acts 17, we see just how dynamic Christianity can be. When Paul and Silas arrived in Thessalonica, their reputations preceded them. The Jewish religious leaders had heard of the impact the two missionaries had had on other cities, and they determined too late not to let them have the same impact in Thessalonica. Their call to arms is the perfect description of dynamic Christianity. “‘Paul and Silas have caused trouble all over the world,’ they shouted, ‘and now they are here disturbing our city, too’” (verse 6 NLT).

Christianity is not a quiet belief system that we keep brief case thing that we bring out only on Sundays and holidays. Christianity shakes people to the core. It upends social norms. It does not settle for the status quo. Christianity is a very real threat to darkness and evil. It changes the world one life at a time. That is the Christian experience that God desires

*Topic* : The Suffering Lord.

*Reading* : Isaiah 53:5-9
“But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.” ( *NLT* )

*Luganda*
_Isaaya_ _53:5-9_
5 "Naye yafumitibwa olw'okusobya kwaffe, yabetentebwa olw'obutali butuukirivu bwaffe: okubonerezebwa okw'emirembe gyaffe kwali ku ye; era emiggo gye gye gituwonya."

*Swahili*
_Isaya_ _53:5-9_
[5]Bali alijeruhiwa kwa makosa yetu,
Alichubuliwa kwa maovu yetu;
Adhabu ya amani yetu ilikuwa juu yake,
Na kwa kupigwa kwake sisi tumepona."

There is no mistaking who the prophecy refers to. The New Testament writers certainly saw the connection between Isaiah’s prophecy and Jesus. That is why the gospel of Matthew quotes from Isaiah 53 in his Gospel (Matthew 8:14–17). And Luke quotes from it in his (Luke 22:36–38). And John, too (John 12:37–41). Paul quotes from it in his letter to the Romans (Romans 10:16–17). Peter quotes from it as well (1 Peter 2:19–25).

The New Testament’s depiction of Jesus’ life and death makes even more specific connections to Isaiah 53. The descriptions of being pierced and crushed in verse 5 refer to His crucifixion. Jesus’ wrists and feet were pierced when He was nailed to the cross. His side was pierced by a Roman spear. The weight of His body as it hung on the cross crushed His internal organs (see John 19:33–34).

The references to a burial and grave in verse 9 correspond with the Gospel of Matthew. The Roman soldiers who carried out Jesus’ crucifixion intended to bury Him with the criminals who were crucified on either side of Him. But Joseph, a wealthy man from Arimathea, got permission from the Roman governor Pilate to bury Jesus’ body in a new tomb he owned (see Matthew 27:57–60).

The most important takeaway from this prophecy of the Suffering Servant is that Jesus died “for our rebellion” and “for our sins.” He was sinless; He was innocent. We’re the guilty ones. Every one of us has sinned. Every one of us deserves God’s punishment. We cannot save ourselves, so Jesus had to die in our place. He was our substitute. Jesus’ death and resurrection are the only means to bridge the chasm between us and God the chasm that was created by our sin.

People often ask, “Don’t all roads lead to God?” In other words, are not all belief systems equally true? If you take time to look at what each religion teaches, you will find that only Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again. The Bible teaches that He is the Son of God, that He paid the debt in our place, and that if we will turn from our sin and follow Him, we can be forgiven and know that we will go to Heaven

As you read this, are you on the side of the one who died for our sins or you are still lingering on the other side?
