ππππ, ππππππ ππ, ππππ β President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday met with a high-level delegation from the African Union Peace and Security Council to discuss the ongoing implementation of the Revitalised Peace Agreement, a key framework aimed at ending years of conflict in South Sudan.
During the meeting, President Kiir expressed his unwavering dedication to ensuring the agreementβs full implementation and pledged to continue working closely with the African Union to secure peace and stability across the country.
South Sudanβs Minister of Foreign Affairs, Monday Semaya Kumba, reaffirmed the Presidentβs commitment and highlighted the importance of sustained cooperation between Juba and the AU in addressing peace and security challenges.
The visiting delegation was led by Dr. Mohammed Khaled, Algeriaβs Ambassador to Ethiopia and current Chair of the AU Peace and Security Council.
Dr. Khaled stated that the purpose of their mission was to assess how the African Union can further support South Sudan in its pursuit of lasting peace, paving the way for the upcoming elections slated for December 2026.
The meeting marked a significant moment of diplomatic engagement and signalled a renewed regional commitment to supporting South Sudanβs peace process as part of broader efforts to foster stability across the African continent.
