What a difference an INSTRUMENT makes! In 2021, we created a string preparatory program called Mission: Strings. This program allowed us to work with students in 3rd through 7th grade to teach them how to play an orchestral string instrument. Our education programs have grown so much that we also created Abilene Youth Strings for students who want a new challenge, but aren't ready for the advanced repertoire that is involved with the Abilene Youth Orchestra. Because of this success, we have launched a "Be Instrumental" campaign where people can donate used instruments to a student in need. Many of my clients who are PCSing to Abilene ask what on earth there is to do for fun here. 🤔🎶🎳 There's really SO much going on - especially for a city our size! 🤩🎶🎸🎭 Just on the music-oriented side of things, today was the Rising Stars of Red Dirt Country Music event in Downtown ABI, The Ice House at LSDG/Lone Star Dry Goods had their delicious crawfish boil with live music, Potosi Live - Abilene TX had Abilene Association of Realtors favorite Abby French perform an acoustic set, South Of Mayhem's release party was at Doc's Bar & Grill, the Civic Orchestra of Abilene had a concert at the Abilene Convention Center, and the Abilene Philharmonic put on a fabulous night of Jazz in the Park at the Abilene Zoo with beverages by the amazing Kao Lounge! 🎶🎤🦜🦒🍸 I had a great evening relaxing to Kelli Rabke's dulcet tones with Philharmonic musicians after another crazy busy week! 🥰🎶🎤
