Definitely some good advice! Don't wait!
Winter is on its way! ❄️ Make sure your car is ready.
Whether its snow, sleet or ice, winter weather can cause extremely dangerous road conditions. Preparing yourself and your vehicle for winter weather is the key.
*Inspect your tires. Check your tire pressure, tread and sidewalls. Don't forget to check your spare tire also in case it is needed.
*Batteries. When the temperature drops, so does the battery power. Get your battery checked before you get left stranded.
*Lights. Check all the lighting on your vehicle including emergency flashers.
*Windshield Wipers. Make sure your wipers are in working condition. Also, check your wiper fluid. You can quickly go through a lot of windshield wiper fluid during the winter. Make sure your reservoir is full of high-quality "winter" fluid with de-icer before winter weather hits.
Carry items in your vehicle to handle common winter driving-related tasks and supplies you might need in an emergency including: ice scrapers, jumper cables, first aid kit, blankets, cell phone charger, water, and food. This will help if you get stranded until help can arrive.
Keep a full tank of gas whenever possible. Plan your route and check local weather before traveling. Let others know your route and anticipated arrival time. Avoid all risky driving behaviors. Do not text or drive distracted. Obey all speed limits and always drive sober. Don't forget to buckle up!
