Please join us as we celebrate the completion of this year's Portage High School Building Trades School House during its open house!

The Open House will be on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. at 448 Gunderson Drive, Portage, Wisconsin.

Building Trades students who built the house and Building Trades Teacher Josh Krueger will be on-site to provide tours and answer any questions that you may have.

Ford has issued a "Do Not Drive" warning affecting 4,653 vehicles due to a severe suspension defect that could cause drivers to lose control.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) noted that the issue stems from front lower control arm ball joints that may have been incorrectly installed or repaired at the vehicle assembly plant.

Affected Models

The recall spans multiple model years for two popular vehicles:

Ford Bronco Sport: Model years 2021 through 2026.
Ford Maverick: Model years 2022 through 2026.

The Core RiskLoss of Control:

The front lower control arm ball joint can completely disconnect from the front wheel knuckle.

Immediate Crash Risk: A detachment while driving leads to an abrupt loss of steering control, significantly increasing the likelihood of an accident.

Required Actions for OwnersStop Driving:

Ford advises parking the vehicle immediately and avoiding further operation until it is inspected.

Check Your VIN:

Owners can enter their unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) directly on the NHTSA Recall Search Page or the Ford Support Recalls Portal to verify if their vehicle is included.

Contact Support:

Affected owners can reach Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 (referencing recall number 26S36) for instructions on how to get the vehicle safely to a dealer without driving it.

Dealerships will inspect the suspension and secure or repair the ball joints completely free of charge.

Official notification letters are scheduled to be mailed out by June 5, 2026.
