🏡 MYTH: The Fed raised rates by 0.25%, so mortgage rates went up 0.25% too.
✅ REALITY: The Fed rate and mortgage rates are not the same thing.
Because the market was already expecting the increase, it was largely priced into mortgage rates ahead of time.
The bigger picture? If inflation continues improving, that can actually help mortgage rates move lower.
Bottom line: Don’t let the headlines fool you — a Fed rate hike does not automatically mean higher mortgage rates.
