Many of you have reached out offering monetary help. Thank you so much!
I wanted to share a video sent to me by my friend, Maqui Camejo, who is coordinating efforts on the ground.

Unfortunately, the government is now requiring permits and documentation for those collecting and distributing aid to those in La Guaira, the area hardest hit. This video shows the long lines of people waiting for hours just to submit paperwork, so they can continue helping families in need.

While these new requirements have created additional challenges and delays, the need remains urgent. Your donations will make a difference, and my friend, as many others, is committed to getting assistance to those affected as quickly and responsibly as possible.

Dear friends,

I’m collecting monetary donations and sending them directly to a dear life-long friend in Caracas, Venezuela. She will personally purchase the most urgently needed supplies and deliver them to trusted donation centers assisting those impacted by this tragedy.

Many of you have reached out with kind words, prayers, and concern. I very much appreciate it. Talking with many of you, and seeing all the news and social media posts, I felt compelled to find a way to do something. When a place has been part of your life for so long, and when so many memories, family ties, and pieces of your identity are connected to it, seeing people suffer there feels incredibly heavy.

I lived in Venezuela for 25 years. It is my mom’s country, a country that has given me so much. Being so far away right now is difficult, but this is one way I can help and hopefully make a difference.

If you would like to contribute, please send me a message. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help provide much-needed support to those affected.
