Today was a pretty exciting day! 🏡❤️

We had the pleasure of helping our clients with a real estate purchase in the past, and today we got to help her and her husband close on their new K. Hovnanian home out in Perry Township, Lake County! 🔑

🌞 Heat Wave Reminder! 🌞

With temperatures feeling like they're over 100°F, your air conditioning system may run longer than usual and still not reach the temperature you have it set to. This is completely normal during extreme heat.

Here are a few tips to help keep your home cooler while reducing the strain on your A/C:

❄️ Keep blinds and curtains closed during the hottest part of the day.
❄️ Set your thermostat to a consistent temperature—avoid constantly adjusting it.
❄️ Use ceiling fans to help circulate cool air (remember: fans cool people, not rooms).
❄️ Avoid using the oven or dryer during the afternoon if possible.
❄️ Keep doors and windows closed to prevent cool air from escaping.
❄️ Replace or clean your A/C filter regularly if you're responsible for it.
❄️ Stay hydrated and check on elderly family members, neighbors, and pets.

⚠️ During periods of extreme heat, many A/C systems can only cool your home about 15–20 degrees below the outside temperature. That means if it's 98°F outside, an indoor temperature around 78–83°F may be normal.

Now... if your A/C is blowing warm air, won't turn on at all, or your indoor temperature keeps climbing even though it's running, that's a different story.

Stay safe, stay cool, and be patient with your A/C—it is working hard to keep you comfortable!
