Just outside the front door of Cascade Lofts is the Towpath Trail, a byway that winds it way through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Residents will have easy access to escape on the weekends into this natural setting or use the path as part of their commute. As a pedestrian highway, the Towpath Trail leads to historical sites in Cascade Locks Park including Mustill Store and House. The architects have included sustainable aspects into this property including renovating a historic property to give it new life. Cascade Lofts is reusing site materials,broken up concrete becomes fill. The heating, ventilation and air conditioning system is energy efficient and the windows will be operable. The landscape designers are creating a learning environment with edible landscape and apiary. The rooftop deck with have space allocated for planting. The residential units are planned along with mercantile space. A coffee shop, future plans for restaurant for the lower level and opportunities for work/live space are all planned into Cascade Lofts floor plans.

In our building we practice new urbanism which is a community with walkable blocks and streets, housing and shopping in close proximity, and accessible public spaces! Located just down a few flights of stairs is a brewery Lock 15 Brewing Company event space Trailhead Event Space Both companies hold community events seasonally. But if beer is not your thing, and biking or hiking is, the towpath trail is just steps away too!
