You do not need to know exactly what you’re doing to begin.

Sometimes the thing that changes your entire life starts with a rusty trailer, a little bit of money, and an idea you can’t stop thinking about.

When we built Shanti, we weren’t builders.

We didn’t have investors.
We didn’t have a big budget.
We didn’t have land in some beautiful tourist destination.
We didn’t even really know what we were doing.

What we had was a vision—and the willingness to figure out the next piece.

And then the next one.
And then the next one.

That tiny house went on Airbnb in the driveway of our mobile home in a place no one was traveling to visit.

And the monthly income from it replaced our 9–5 income.

But more importantly, it showed us what was possible.

Shanti became the first domino.

One tiny house became another.
Then land.
Then more stays.
Then a business.
Then a completely different way of living.

I think this is the part we forget when we’re dreaming about the land, the retreat center, the farmstay, the tiny homes, the community, the business:

You don’t have to know how to build the whole dream yet.

You just have to be willing to take the dream out of your head and put the first piece of it into the dirt.

Shanti was ours.

This week in our channel, I’m sharing the full story of how we built the tiny house that started Simplify Further—from a $1,000 rusty trailer, Marketplace finds and many, many trips to Lowe’s.

I was close to accomplishing this dream.
I lived in village with 5 other families for 2 years.

We shared meals, cleaned each others homes, did sunrise workouts together, children played freely, homeschooled together.

Mothers shared the load. We supported each other through childbirth and postpartum. There was always a shoulder to cry on.

This is a dream for many people (including us!) and we wanted to take it to the next level and live off the land with our village.

But, it didn’t work out. Because there are realities of living in village with other families that people don’t talk about.

The reality is, it’s hard to find 5 families that truly share your values (especially if you’re really clear on your values!). Land ownership as a group is also not something they make easy to accomplish. And there are very few people that are willing to make the sacrifices it takes to actually achieve this dream.

I know many of you have this dream too, that’s why we are creating The Village. An online space for humans who are dreaming of spaces that flourish - land that nourishes the people who live on it, experiences that nurture the soul - and are ready to take the action it takes to make that dream a reality.

the Highest form of Intelligence is the Intelligence behind CREATION & so when we use our intelligence to *create* our lives, we are living in alignment with our highest selves & Something Higher Than ourselves.

beautiful bits of the life of an airbnb host over the last couple months.

Im not doomscrolling, I’m scouting for possibilities.💅🏻

I realized this today and I can’t be the only one.
Im addicted to looking for new possibilities!

A piece of land that could become a retreat.
A tiny home that sparks a new idea.
A cabin that reminds me how people are meant to feel.
A property where a village could exist.

Maybe we’re not addicted to scrolling,
Maybe we’re dreaming about a different way of living.

✨ Does anyone else doomscroll Airbnb and Zillow?
(Okay fine, Instagram too but only sometimes 😉)
