Let's talk BMR properties. BMR stands for 'below market rate'. These are brand new or newish homes put up for lottery by various cities in the Bay Area: Oakland, Concord, San Francisco, etc. They are an opportunity for low to mid income families to get into their first home, establish/increase credit portfolio, have stability. There are income limits according to family size. From the City of Santa Clara:
"The Pre-Application Period is NOW OPEN for two 3-bedroom BMR units located in buildings 3051 and 3045 El Camino Real, The deadline to submit an application is FEBRUARY 7th, 2025 to be considered for the Application Lottery. City of Santa Clara, is excited to be sharing the opportunity to purchase four (4) Below Market Rate Homes recently completed by Taylor Morrison located at 3041, 3051 and 3045 El Camino in the City of Santa Clara.
