As someone who worked in retail at Nordstrom and is a first-gen UC Berkeley college grad, I’ve learned some things about persistence and creating my path. Here’s how that fueled my real estate currently:
• Breaking new ground: Being the first in my family to navigate college and work at a young age taught me how to tackle unfamiliar territory head-on. I cross-sold items on the sales floor to complete my clients' outfits. In real estate, this means confidently exploring new markets and opportunities.
• Resourcefulness: Figuring out college applications, scholarship applications, and finances solo made me adept at finding solutions. On the sales floor, I present my client with versatile outfit options for any occasion. I use that skill to overcome challenges in deals creatively.
• Hard work pays off: Balancing studies and part-time jobs throughout college instilled a strong ethic. In real estate, I’m committed to putting in the effort to ensure clients achieve their goals.
• Building connections: College taught me the value of networking and mentorship. I needed to manage my clientele at Nordstrom and give them the best customer service through genuine connections. I bring this into real estate by fostering relationships that benefit my clients and community.
• Resilience: Facing setbacks prepared me to handle the ups and downs of the property without losing momentum. I continue to move on and keep going, whatever challenges come my way.
The grit and determination that got me through working at Nordstrom to fund my education at the University of California, Berkeley, now drive my passion for real estate, helping others find their place to call home! Need help with real estate? Reach out to me!
