Knocked out this thick willow patch for an awesome customer. They wanted to maximize the usable space on their property, and open up views to the creek from their house. Navigating the rocky ground we made it happen.

The pine trees also benefit from removing the fast growing willows and will get all of the sun now!

Fuels reduction project.

The goal was to mulch up fallen trees and brush to reduce the fuels that could elevate a wildfire. The customer wanted a park like setting inside their grove of big, mature fir trees.

As always, we got rid of the poison oak per customer request 😃

Some might wonder, what is forestry mulching??

Forestry mulching also known as forestry masticating is a land clearing method using one single machine to cut, grind and clear unwanted vegetation. A skid steer with a rotary drum mounted attachment has 30+ steel “teeth” or “knives” used to shred vegetation. From blackberries, to big brush piles and even full trees, a forestry mulcher can tackle it all.

What are benefits of mulching?

Mulching removes the unwanted vegetation by shredding it down into mulch. The mulch is left on the ground, where it protects the soil from erosion and will also breakdown organically over time to create a healthier soil by giving back its nutrients.

The best part of forestry mulching, is it gives your property a desired look and usable space again for your needs. Not to mention the removal of wildfire fuels to protect your home and properties!

We were happy to help the Philomath School District recreate and reroute their cross country course after the original course was covered up due to a logging operation. Turning the brush and slash piles into fine wood chips will make for a great base to the new cross country course!
