Pretty amazing video below. Incredible LIVE art acting as the backdrop for a musical journey that on any given night is rivaled by absolutely none.....
It looked incredible in person, creating an atmosphere that made you feel as if you were a part of something special or rare happening right then in that moment. As if by the end of the songs the universe would somehow reach out to you and hand you all the answers to life's mysteries. "Like a cloud dropping rain, you discard all thought" as the lights would rise and fall and ebb and flow with the "story" (the setlist) of that night's show; Which, oh by the way, is completely different every single night. Eddie Vedder is like the train conductor using voice, storytelling and raw power to keep the train on the tracks while making sure to stop at every emotional "station" along the journey. All aboard indeed. And I havent even mentioned the Mike McCready solos....Its the kind of thing where he finishes playing and youre left standing there trying to comprehend what actually just happened. He absolutely evicerates living matter, or Dark Matter in this case, (if u get that joke then good on ya) itself starting from the very atoms within only to put it all back together and land you back safely. If you were at all broken in any way before the night began, you are, if only for a brief, magical few hours, made to be whole.
Look, I get it. Im aware it Sounds "dramatic"....except its simply not! Lol It is just truth. I promise to you....this band is a whole different thing live. For me, I've seen them something close to 40 times live. But "this behavior's not unique" and there are fans from all over our great planet who have seen 100s of shows and will travel anywhere in the world to see our guys. There is a reason for this. If you've never had the opportunity to go see Pearl Jam live, PLEASE go do it. No questions or hesitation. You can thank me when we see each other there!
End of random rant....but it needs to be said sometimes!
