1915 House

1915 House Built in 1915 for the Tracey Family. Purchased in 2011 by a red-headed Italian-Irish-American

Everyone has been asking for updates and photos on the house so I decided it was easiest to just give it it's own page. I bought this house in January 2011 from an artist who loved to paint things orange and use loud colors. Since that time, we've been working on restoring the house to it's former splendor...

For some perspective, here's what was going on in the world the year the house

was constructed (1915):

Rocky Mountain National Park is established;
Neon is patented for advertising use;
U.S. Coast Guard is designated as a military branch;
First stone of the Lincoln Memorial is put into place;
NACA (predecessor of NASA) is founded;
Pluto is photographed for the first time;
Babe Ruth hits his first career home run;
Electrified commuter rail service between begins in Philly;
The film "Inspiration" shows an actress n**e for the first time;
Theory of general relativity is formulated;
WWI is going on by British and German forces declare a Christmas truce to play football in "no-man's land";
Theory of Pangaea is proposed;
First stop sign appears in Detroit, Michigan;

It's official...the 1-inch long goldfish we purchased for the pond last spring have survived the winter and are now almost 6-inches long and swimming around happily outside

Even though it's not quite Spring yet, Louis and I are pleased to announce that plantings are starting to bud and the fish in the pond are swimming happily. It's not a "lush tropical wonderland" but it's pretty good for upstate NY in March!
