DECLARATION OF SNOW EMERGENCY

The City of Albion has declared a Snow Emergency Effective Friday, January 12, 2024, at 8:00 PM through Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 8:00 AM.

During a declared snow removal emergency, parking or standing of a motor vehicle on a public street or highway is prohibited for the duration of the emergency. A snow or ice emergency shall be deemed to exist when snow or ice hinders the proper removal of accumulated snow and ice from city streets or highways.

Any person who owns or is in the control of a vehicle that violates this order shall be subject to fines and costs, and the motor vehicle may be removed from the street or highway by the Albion Department of Public Safety with the costs of removal and storage paid by the owner or person in control of the vehicle.

Temporary parking on downtown streets to access open local businesses is allowed during business hours.

Do NOT plug space heaters into power strips or extension cords.

Plug space heaters directly into the wall outlet.

Powers strips are not designed to handle the high current flow required by a space heater and can overheat causing a fire.
