Camping in style: My daughter, camera-shy fiancΓ© and I had an 'elk-stravaganza' in the Manzano Mountains this weekend! 🌲 Picture this: a starlit night, the serenade of elk echoing through the woods and the crackling of the campfire. We 'heard' Mother Nature's symphony all night long! 🦌🌟 Exploring the breathtaking beauty of New Mexico, one 'heard'-felt moment at a time. Thanks Juliette for snapping all the pictures! πŸ“Έ πŸžοΈπŸ’«

🏑 This week's tip is sure to make you rethink that "useless" space in your home...

Transforming awkward spaces or ones that would otherwise be unused into a cosy nook has been a trick that interior designers have used forever. Custom woodwork can turn these spaces into anything from a window seat, to a reading nook and everything in between. Enhance comfort with comfy cushions and side tables. Pro tip: Use the space under the pillows, or other hidden areas for secret storage space.

πŸ“‰For A Mortgage Rate Update Read Below...πŸ‘‡

Much of the news from last week has had a significant effect on mortgage rates, as it often does. The Biden administration proposed a major tax increase, with news of capital gains tax rates potentially being as high as 43.4% for some individuals. The previous rate was 23.8%. The market did not take very well to this news, and thus rates ended the week a bit lower. Another factor that can explain the dip is what's happening in the world economy. Lots of foreign nations are seeing surges in COVID cases, which causes uneasiness with domestic investors, as our economy depends largely on foreign economies to stay optimized.

Many economists still predict that next year will be a great economic year. The Federal Reserve Bank is anticipating that 2021 will see the fastest economic growth since the Reagan era. Overall, unemployment is decreasing and folks are returning to work as businesses begin to hire once again. Positive COVID cases continue to drop here in the United States, and things are opening up again. Both of these factors will likely cause rates to increase at a faster rate than we have seen thus far.

The Federal Reserve Bank has convened this week and has scheduled to release their report and hold a conference today. Markets will likely move due to this news and rates could reverse based on the Fed report.

🏑 This week, I am serving up an interior design tip that I think mostly all homeowners can benefit from. This is one of the most commonly made mistakes, when it comes to interior design especially in open-plan spaces.

I see all to often, an incredibly gorgeous space that is crammed tight due to too much furniture in an area. Plan your thoroughfares. If there is not enough space to walk around comfortably then, people may feel trapped. The most heavily used walkways in your home should have about 3 feet of space, or just enough for two people to pass each other.
